If you ever met her you would see a woman full of joy, smiling, laughing, giggling even though her life has had many bumps in the road she is an Overcomer! She lives in Florida now and I had not seen her for years. I tried to contact her this summer because I knew she was visiting Maine to no avail. BUT GOD, when my husband and I visited Pemaquid on a Sunday afternoon, while walking along the shore line overlooking the beautiful waves hitting the rocks I saw this lady sitting on a bench, lo and behold, it was my friend, Lillian. We stood amazed at how God brought us together that day after so long a time of not seeing each other. Here is her poem she wrote and shared with me.

Gormy Fingers is my Name

Fighting Aging is my Game

What keeps me going is His Grace

Soon I'll look into His Face.

Overcoming is my Name

Honoring Jesus is my Game

The Rewards He promises make me smile,

I'll receive them in awhile.

When this race of earth is done

It will be by His Grace that I've won.

The challenges of this life will seem so small

When into His arms I'll fall.

When I'm soaring through the air

All my loved ones will be there

Glad reunions will take place

As we rejoice in His embrace.

Weapons

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. NKV

WEAPONS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO THE CHILD OF GOD

1. THE BLOOD OF JESUS

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

2. THE NAME OF JESUS

Philippians 2:19b-10 ...the name above every name ..that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those one earth, and of those under the earth.

His Name is all that He Himself is and has. Strongholds of the enemy are demolished when His name is invoked. The devil was defeated at the cross, he is defeated right now by the resurrection and he will be defeated on the day of judgment.

3. THE WORD OF GOD

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piecing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

4. PRAISE

Acts 16:25 'And at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, ....Suddenly....'

God is in the suddenlies and a great earthquake shook the foundations of the prison and immediately all the doors were opened and every one's chains were loosed.

2 Chronicles 20:22 ...when the people of Judah began to sing and praise, the Lord defeated the enemies.

Today, you may have a battle looming and you need a victory. Stand in the power of the blood of Jesus, and His Name, using the Word of God and Praise Him and see the Victory won!!

EAGLES in a storm

Did you know that an eagle knows

when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The eagle will fly to some high spot

and wait for the winds to come.

When the storm hits, it sets its wings

so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm.

While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm.

It simply uses the storm to lift it higher.

It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us-

and all of us will experience them.

We can rise above them by setting

our heart and mind on things above.

He is the author and finisher of our Faith.

A place of safety.

He will never leave or forsake us

He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities.

We can soar above the storm that brings tragedy,

sickness, or other disappointments in our lives.

On His wings of Grace and Love we can learn to soar.

His Love is deeper than any storm we can ever face.

And by His grace we can soar as the eagle.

PRAYER

Lord of heaven and Earth I give you Honor and Praise. In my time of need help me to learn to lift my eyes unto the hills where my help comes from and learn to soar as the eagle in the midst of the storms of life.

In Jesus Name..Amen!!
